Reunion of US-Drustrups July 12th 2003The reunion was a great success! There were 45+ people: All the Thomas Drustrup cousins plus representatives from all of Niels' family: Maren Carpenter, Niels' daughter, Neysa and Jane Carpenter with kids, Karen Drustrup (Niels' son Thomas' daughter) and Mickey and Linda. Ed Drustrup was in fine form at 87 and a wonderful host. Everyone met at Dee Dee's beautiful place in the country near Council Bluffs on Saturday afternoon and evening. The weather was perfect: kids went swimming in the pool, played croquet in teams “Niels versus Thomas” and they generally had a wonderful time running around. The adults figured out how they were related, exchanged family photos and remembered old times. Bob and Virginia Carrigan who maintain the www.carriganlane.com website that includes the Myrtues were at the reunion too. They brought their computer and family tree information sheets and asked each family to correct the information. A lot of photos were scanned and exchanged, and some new photos were taken of all the Drustrups gathered. I very much hope that you all will send me copies digitially or on paper of all the old and new photos. When my collection is more complete (I have quite a lot old ones from Denmark too) they will all be put on the website.
